Garden Gate Necklace

Gardens have an acute power to make a visitor feel as though they have stepped into a new, magical world. This is especially true for secret gardens, which were often guarded by wrought iron gates or thick brick walls, as beautifully imagined in Frances Hodgson Burnett’s literary masterpiece, The Secret Garden.

Hung on a 9ct yellow gold chain, our Garden Gate Necklace features a set of miniature, verdigris keys – aged and weathered in appearance as if belonging to a long-lost grotto or folly. The verdigris patina’s rustic, green hue also represents plant life in both in colour and in texture. Up close, the verdigris finish takes on the appearance of organic moss growing on garden ornaments or an ancient dry-stone wall.

We think this delicate, gem of a necklace is the perfect day-time accessory, pairing perfectly with other gold chains and pendants, especially when worn with an open-necked white shirt. We like to wear ours with our matching Garden Gate Earrings, but they easily compliment all other gold and green-hued jewellery.
